10 Spring Cleaning Tips

March 28, 2012 in Life

It’s Spring cleaning time! I get a little too excited about this time of year … but for good reason! Is there anything better than coming home to a well organized, dust-free and clutter-free home? It’s time to open the windows and let the fresh and beautiful Spring breeze in! Here are 10 Spring cleaning tips that will have your home glistening with cleanliness in a heartbeat.

  1. Work from the top down, inside to outside, to avoid getting what you just cleaned dirty again. Always dust before vacuuming!
  2.  Tackle one room at a time. It will make the process a whole lot easier.
  3. Multi-task. When you have the laundry going, wipe down the kitchen counters. Our KITCHEN Counter Spray will get the job done.
  4. Get three boxes and label them store, donate and toss. Furthermore, if you’ve found some “treasures” that you don’t need anymore, try making some money and selling them on Craigslist or Kijiji.
  5. Invest in some good cleaning tools (brooms, mops, etc.) and rubber gloves! No one likes holes in rubber gloves .. the water gets in which makes it uncomfortable, then you have to peel the glove off and are left with a powder-residue-paste on your hand. Yuck!
  6. Buckle down and empty out the fridge/freezer, and wipe them down.  Defrosting is a good idea if you have a build up of ice. Don’t forget to throw out the expired goods.
  7. Make small repairs. If you’re not handy, hire someone or lure a friend over with a glass of lemonade and then coax them into doing it for you. It works :)
  8. Vacuum your drapes/curtains and wipe down the windows to let the sunshine in! Don’t forget to dust the ledges for the days you want your window open.
  9. Open your make-up bag and throw out the old and expired products. Afterwards you can use our Acrylic Organizers to re-organize what you’ve kept in a fashionable way.
  10.  Vacuum your mattress, flip it – and replace pillows that are over a year old.

Happy Spring Cleaning!
